Use Somebody - Kings of Leon

Where was I when this song was released? This song is awesome and I only heard it just a few days ago. I am so in love with this song right now. Caleb's voice is so sexy!

I've been roaming around, I was looking down at all I see
Painted faces fill the places I can't reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Someone like you and all you know and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you

Off in the night while you live it up I'm off to sleep
Waging wars to shake the poet and the beat
I hope it's gonna make you notice
I hope it's gonna make you notice

Someone like me, someone like me
Someone like me, somebody

I'm ready now, I'm ready now
I'm ready now, I'm ready now
I'm ready now, I'm ready now
I'm ready now

Someone like you, somebody
Someone like you, somebody
Someone like you, somebody

I've been roaming around, I was looking down at all I see

Bisan Pa :D

I attended a concert last night. February 18, 8pm @ STC Auditorium, to be exact. It wasn't my first time but this was the best. She is a new artist and just starting to make a name for herself but damn, she is good. I know that she is destined for greatness and I'm glad that I was witness to an awesome talent.

I brought my camera but it was so low tech and blurry. I think I need to upgrade my gadgets. :D

But nevertheless, thanks to youtube, I still get to watch and save her performances that night. Julie Anne, you rock. And this Bisrock, "Bisan Pa" song was the highlight of the evening. She gave justice to the song. It was my first time hearing it but because of her, I now love the song.

If ever she'll have another concert here in Cebu in the future, I'm definitely gonna watch it again. This is pure talent at its best! It was all worth it.

So, here it goes:

"Bisan pa ug may lain ka na karon. Ikaw lang gihapon ang higugmaon.

More Than That

Whenever I hear any song from the Backstreet Boys, I remember my high school days. Yes, I was in High School during the height of their popularity. And yes, that was still in the 90's. I'm somehow revealing my true age now. :)

I remember having several posters of them in my room. I bought all their albums, but just the cassette tapes, since I cannot afford to buy CD's.

I'm not a fan now, but this song will always be my favorite BSB song. It is full of emotion and longing to be with someone and promising her that he can love her better. I cannot relate to the lyrics of the song, but nevertheless, it is a beautiful song.

"Baby listen to me when I say, I will love you more than that"

Stay - Carol Banawa

Forgive me if I start this on a sad note, but this song really reminds me of my father.

A few months before he died, my dad, sister and I were watching "Maalaala Mo Kaya," featuring the life story of Carol Banawa. Carol Banawa lost her brother and she made this song for him. I can still vividly remember crying while watching this episode.

That is why every time I hear this song, I remember my dad because this was the song that was playing the last time I sat down with him in the living room. We seldom watch TV together but there was something about that night. Who would've thought that it would be the last time that I am able to do that with my father.

Through this experience, I've learned that moving on is difficult. I was aware that nothing in life stays permanent, but the moment I lost my dad, I long for his presence almost everyday. His loss has left a void in my heart that no one else can fill. I still miss him. :(

"Why did you have to leave me....
"I want you to stay never go away from me."

Loving the Sound

I'd like to express my love of music in this blog. No, I am not a singer, nor a songwriter. I do not even know how to play any musical instruments. I tried playing the piano when I was in High School but I got stuck in Grade One. I did not pursue it after that.

But I just can't live without music. When I had my first salary, the first gadget that I bought was an MP3 player.  I just wanna bring music with me wherever I go.

Thus, I decided to start a blog that focuses on the music and the emotion it has brought to my life. Some songs or lyrics may struck a cord, while others do not relate to me at all,  but they all bring a smile to my face just the same. Music is my stress reliever.

So here it goes, (don't worry, I won't post a video of me singing coz it'll ruin everything, LOL). Join me in my journey in the past, present and maybe even future, expressed through MUSIC.
